The Architecture in America's capital, Washington DC, showcases the international melting pot that is our nation. Many buildings in our Capital were inspired by ancient Greek and Roman styles in design recognized by tall columns, symmetrical shapes, triangular pediments and domed roofs. From English Baroque, Renaissance Revival, Neo-Classical and Neo-Romanesque the buildings in Washington DC stand proud and beautiful.
There is also amazing architectural features inside of some of the buildings. Keep in mind any 'trims' were typically carved in place by very skilled artists of the time.
There was so much about the architecture in Washington DC that reminded me of Paris .... and I know there a number of my readers out there that remember how much I loved Paris!! I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
