Beauty, sports and farwell .

I never spent any time in Cincinatti even though I was raised in Ohio.  So we spent a day sharing some of it's beauty and some of it's sports!  First we visited Eden Parks Krohn Conservatory.

The conservatory was completed in 1933, replacing smaller greenhouses that had stood in Eden Park since 1894. Originally known only as the Eden Park Greenhouse, in 1937 it was renamed in honor of Irwin M. Krohn who served as Park Commissioner from 1912 to 1948. The architect firm, Rapp & Meacham, designed the conservatory in the Art Deco style, in the form of a Gothic arch.
Khron Conservatory is in Eden park in the Mt. Adams section of Cincinnati. It is a wonderful place to visit at any time, with its separate sections such as Palm, Tropical, Desert and Orchid gardens plus  over 3500 different plant species.

With in Edan Park are several beautiful structures from the past.  Below is one of them.  We were able to climb the steps of this tower and enjoy the distant views.

Now samples of the beauty inside the conservatory - you all know how much I love flowers and plants!
Daisies of all varieties are always so happy!

I thought this was unique.

Well, I tried to catcht that butterfly!

Bonsi's !!!

And oh my ... orchids ... delicate and beautiful.

From cactus to rain forrest....

This is the 'house mouse'!  He's a cutie!

Below - besides being a lovely little garden -is actually a sun dial!

Out door gardens were equally as beautiful and well tended.

I love the sun reflecting through these grasses, they just glow!

A spider lily anyone?

Or tiny blossoms just waiting to explode into the full bouquet of a hydrangea.

 So, farewell to beautiful gardens,
and hello Sports!
New York Giants vs the Cincinnati Bengals

And now as a farewell to the lovely city of Cincinnati through some night time shots of the city.

We will need to go back!  There is much, much, more to see in beautiful Cincinnati!
Next stop Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
More soon :)
