The Mini Time Machine a Museum of Miniatures

The Mini Time Machine a Museum of Miniatures in Tucson.

The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures showcases more than 400 antique and contemporary dollhouses,  room-boxes, cabinet houses and many odd items creators could think to build miniatures in, all sure to delight viewers of all ages.  A quick note: everything was behind glass so there are reflections in many of the photos that were unavoidable!  Not my favorite but ..... There are three major galleries:

The History Gallery is a window into the past. This gallery offers visitors a glimpse of daily life in the 18th, 19th and early 20th century. It also shows insight into the use and production of miniatures and how that has changed with time.

The Exploring the World Gallery showcases contemporary miniatures depicting life around the world. Visitors will be amazed by the accuracy of scale and fine attention to detail achieved by the artists represented in this gallery.

There are miniatures in cabinets and various other structures.

The Enchanted Realm Gallery is filled with fantasy themed miniatures and collectibles. Folklore and fiction are brought to life with miniatures inhabited by dragons, fairies, mice, frogs and other imaginary creatures.  This is The Mini Museum’s most magical gallery, anchored by a large enchanted tree that has three faces. If you are quiet and patient, you can hear the fairies dancing in the leaves, and maybe even see fairy Caitlin fly down to her knothole.

Don't forget Halloween and Christmas!!

These Christmas Scenes are actually under the floor!

The Mini Time Machine a Museum of Miniatures definitely goes on our list of unusual museums we have found during our journey!  Hope you have enjoyed it too!

More coming soon 😊
