Rosecliff

Rosecliff is the last mansion we were able to visit while we were in Newport.  Rosecliff was modeled after the Grand Trianon of Versailles.  I want to share several photos of the front of Rosecliff as I found it to be absolutely stunning.  First the view of the 'front yard' then the house itself ...

Then as we walked to the front door on the right in the photo above, I spotted a lovely garden on the side of the house!

Then we looked out back from the garden and
again, a beautiful view.

Heading back around the front again we finally entered the house.  We were greeted by another lovely staircase.

Rosecliff was home to Newport's largest ballroom at 40 by 80 feet.

More details, chandeliers, figurines, and elegant touches.

The views out the windows to the front and back yards were also to be remembered.

We could only tour the ground floor and the furnishings were limited.  We're not sure but we think it is because the house has been owned by more than one family.  We enjoyed it anyway - hope you did too!

More to come soon ...
