Los Angeles California ; Slice number 4!

Los Angeles  California ; Slice number 4!

This slice of Los Angeles is pretty popular and I’m sure every person who follows ‘Goldens on the Road’ are familiar with them.  This ‘slice’ will include “Hollywood Blvd”, “Grauman’s Chinese Theater” and the “Hollywood Walk of Fame”.  We  start on Sunset Blvd.  The first four photos were originally the 'Charlie Chaplin Studios' that were falling into ruin until Jim Henson of 'Muppet' fame purchased the entire block of buildings, renovated them keeping the original facade of the buildings and moved 'The Jim Henson Company' into their new home.  Notice Kermit saying 'hello' dressed as the little tramp.

Then we have a quick shot of the CBS Studios building.

Lunch at Farmers Market was a very pleasant experience.  There are no photos on this one but I can tell you the food choices came from every corner of the world.  We walked through the entire market just trying to decide which choice made our mouths water the most!

Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Blvd. are exactly what you would expect, filled with beautiful, luxurious, and very expensive shops, restaurants and hotels!  It was evening though and that made this visit rather magical.

Beverly Hills is filled with the homes of famous people. We saw this area on a small bus tour and it was interesting listening to our guide as he was very knowledgeable about all the homes.  During this tour we also went up to the Hollywood sign and Griffith Park and Observatory.

This mail box and the next two
photos are Hugh
Heffner's home.  Note the remembrances hung on the  back gate for Hugh.

The yellow home below is that of Michael Jackson.  According to our guide this is where
Michael overdosed and unfortunately took his own life.

Below is the home of Pat Boone
And the home of Lucille Ball

We think this is Robert DeNiro's home but really we are not sure!!

Beautifully manicured yards !

Beverly Hill's Hotel

I don't remember who lived in every house and most, if not all, were very secluded such that we ended up driving passed a lot of closed entry gates!
An overview of Hollywood Hills and LA is our last stop of the day.
