While we enjoyed Atlanta's Zoo we were also disappointed that many of their animals where 'wintering' else where. Not sure why that is as Atlanta's winters seem pretty mild but many habitats were empty with signs on them 'closed for winter' or 'on loan for winter'! So we enjoyed the sights as much as we could and here are some of the results!
First up were the Elephants....well the Elephant!
Then we visited the Giant Pandas ... as big as they are they sure are cute!!
This guy is just snoozed out on his back!
They have a beautiful, regal and proud Bald Eagle.
He's giving us a left pose ... Then a right pose ...
Then he finally looked at the photographer.
In the African Rain Forest we saw several Gorilla families.
Next we visited the Amphibian and Reptile Experience. Kind of creepy 😕😕
From colorful toads - that are poisonous, to playful turtles - who snap, to snakes and lizards ... including a Komodo Dragon!

Next, the Aviary
From the African Planes we saw Giraffes, a Zebra, a really cute Meerkat and the award winning Warthog!
In the Asian Forest we saw some Orangutans and Otters
As we watched the Otters play we could not help but notice that they play just like Izzy and Ivy Rose! If one of them had a toy the other MUST have it - no matter that there were additional toys available! They chase each other and tackle each other and they move in synchronized motions - turning their heads the same way at the same time, turning around in the same direction at the same time ... they were as much fun to watch as Izzy and Ivy Rose are!! We enjoyed them a lot ! ☺
And last but not least - one of my very favorites - the Big Cats!
And the Lions - awesome!
Below is not a yawn - it is a roar!
Yep ... she is absolutely beautiful! There is nothing like a nice BIG cat! 😻
