Stone Mountain Park

On one of our last days in the Atlanta Georgia area we had Izzy and Ivy Rose jump in the truck and off we went to visit and hike in Stone Mountain Park.

Stone Mountain is well-known not only for its geology (quartz monzonite dome), but also for the enormous rock relief on its north face, the largest bas-relief in the world. The carving depicts three Confederate figures during the Civil War: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis.

We found some interesting fungi growing on this dead tree stump. Very colorful.

Two tired pups near the end of out hike!  We enjoyed our visit to Atlanta.  More soon! 🐾🐾🌞🌷
